Harbour Island, 3 1/2 miles long, 1/2 miles wide, is located near the north end of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. A brief plane trip from the “free” port of Nassau to North Eleuthera, and an 8 minute boat ride brings you to Harbour Island. You may choose to fly from Miami or Ft. Lauderdale directly to North Eleuthera.

ACTIVITIES
There are many things to do – for all ages – but foremost might be relaxation and reading and enjoying the sun. The ocean and its many quiet bays and hidden beaches offers a treasure of activities: swimming, sport fishing (excellent bone fishing), snorkeling, scuba diving, shelling, lobstering, sailing and boating. The water is crystal clear. Take a walk -- anywhere. Go beachcombing on a beach of pink sand which flows the length of Harbour Island. The house is convenient to everything by foot.

There are no hotel giants -- just a handful of very nice small resorts where one can enjoy a superior lunch or dinner.

Harbour Island has only a few nightclubs -- but they are special.

DINING OUT
Several of the restaurants are a must visit. Fine dining on Bay Street includes:

The Harbour Lounge, which overlooks the Bay, serves excellent fare ala carte. Sip a superior pina colada and watch the beautiful sunset from their porch. Dining at The Landing Restaurant is quite pleasurable. The cuisine is Australian Pan Pacific style served in an old world atmosphere. Enjoy cocktails and dinner in the dining room or on the patio or porch Bayside. The Rock House is a great place for a light lunch and in the evening for a more formal dinner with a romantic ambiance. They offer New Orleans style fare with an Island twist.

For additional elegant dining out Harbour Island offers: Coral Sands, Dunmore Beach Club, Pink Sands Restaurant, The Romora Bay Club, and Runaway Hill.

Luncheon is served overlooking the sea at Pink Sands and Coral Sands. Sip Sip (which means gossip) is the name of a charming and fun lunch place that is just a walk up the beach.

For more casual dining we suggest Angelas Starfish Inn, Bayside Café, and PT Cools. Ma Ruby's is a must visit for a "cheeseburger in paradise" and the local beer Kalik. Fresh bread and other baked goods can be bought at Arthur's Bakery - they serve breakfast and lunch, as well. Breakfast and lunch are also served in town at the Dunmore Deli. Don't miss cocktails at The Marina at sunset - lite fare menu available.

The island has several small markets that stock American and English foods. Local fisherman sell grouper, snapper, rock lobster and conch that you can prepare yourself at home or have Nola, the housekeeper, cook up a Bahamian specialty.
